The location of the hotel is amazing, right on the shopping strip and minutes walk to the Waikiki beach. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, we had a double for a family of two adults and two kids, balcony with partial sea view. The pool area is nice but gets very busy. The hotel offered complimentary sunrise yoga by the pool which was a lovely experience. Laundry room was an added bonus. The hotel shop was fully stocked with all sorts of necessities. Would definitely recommend staying here! A note of appreciation for the housekeeper in charge of our floor, Zhi Yi, for her hospitality, made our stay memorable!

Honolulu is unique in the world.

Honolulu is unique in the world. A tropical paradise crossroads between America, Asia and Oceania. Although Honolulu is a commercial centre like any other moderate sized American city, its relaxed charm, mild tropical weather, beautiful sunsets and great beaches outweigh everything else.

We were visiting my son and daughter-in-law, who live on Wheeler Airforce base. Kapolei is 20-25 minutes from Waihiwa so they could easily come to us for dinner (hotel is next to a mall with lots of restaurant options); we were also close to Honolulu (30 minutes) and the Bishop museum; pearl harbor; Honolulu art museum; and the West beaches like Electric beach. North shore about 35-40 minutes. Kapolei is a central location away from the tourist craziness of Waikiki.

The property itself is very run down and old needing a lot of love. The construction that was going on was not an issue. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. The ac they speak of is a window unit which no where near reaches past the living room/kitchen and bed. The kitchen was not complete with decent cooking pans. I certainly would not stay here again. The only nice thing about this condo was the beach access.

Location was exactly what we were looking for away from the chaos of Honolulu. Paradise Bay Resort is a great place to stay, Whiskey Smoke 808 Bar-b-Q is a good value, and Haleiwa Joe's Haiku Gardens is good but pricey. Enough stores and other options to have snacks for the room. Enough beach choices and other activities within a short drive.

I love the North Shore. I love it in the summertime.

I love the North Shore. I love it in the summertime. I have visited in the winter months; however, I prefer the ocean calmer and warmer, so summer is perfect. Winter is also rainy season- I feel like many people don't realize this or research this. The ocean on the North Shore may have big waves in the winter months, too. That is pretty awesome to watch. Some of my favorite beaches are Three Tables, Waimea Bay, and Sunset Beach. I love to snorkel at Three Tables. Some favorite places to eat are Cholos in Haleiwa for Mexican food. I love Banzai Bowls for Acai bowls, the Sunset location is my favorite. Across from Dole plantation-- (still owned by Dole) they were selling $3 pineapples, which was pretty sweet!!! We love all of the food trucks! Ted's bakery is great. We love getting coffee and breakfast sandwiches from there. It's awesome if you're staying along the bike path and you can walk or ride a bike there. Having a car is key; there is so much to see and explore all over Oahu.

Beautiful beach, that was the best part.

Beautiful beach, that was the best part. The prices in Hawaii are ridiculous. Very high. The are grocery stores that you can buy your own food and cook if you have a kitchen. Nice people. My fav was the taco truck that had such good fresh healthy food. I would eat there everyday. He was on Kihapai st and oneawa st , late in the evening. Best recommendation. Its mostly safe, some homeless here and there not much in the residential areas. Few bars from high end, to crossroads to Kailua tavern that has the best karaoke bartender you have ever heard. He sings and makes your drinks. Food is ok, if you are a foodies it's hit and miss.. in the restaurants.. Super fun, you can get amazing surfing cheap lessons with Mike and Andy at 808 Surt School by Kamehameha Hwy opposite of the shrimp shack. Lot of great experiences, so much beautiful sun. Beautiful place. We'll be back.

This can be a good place to stay you may have to over look some of the issues this location has. THIS IS NOT A JW MARRIOTT don't expect it. Even pricey hotels aren't perfect. The beach is close and turtles do land on it in the evenings. The water is very shallow all the way out to the reef - probably good for beginners. This location is close to the Polynesian Cultural Center and is about the middle of all North Shore points of interest. We did not stay in the room much because we were away seeing the rest of the island during the day.
