It felt like an oasis and paradise hidden away from the world. The staff and guests were so friendly, offering tips and travel advice for the island. The space was clean and everything was very well organised.

The house is just like the photos. It actually has 2 bedrooms not just one as listed. At night when the temperature drops, inside the house remains nice and cozy. Also, when you shut the windows, the sound of the coqui frogs lessen a lot! There are neighbors so we felt safe, and not isolated. The house was clean, cozy, well stocked and very well lit at night. Really happy with the motion lighting at night!!

This place is so magical it’s like being in a fairies garden! The place is private and tucked away, at night time it is illuminated by hundreds of fairy lights and you can see the Milky Way above and listen to the thousands of little frogs and geckos- it was like being in another world. We will definitely be coming back!

The host showed a nice farm Papaya across the street from home.Dragon fruit. Pineapple.Banana. That was so cool. They even gave us bananas that we've never had before. It was very sweet. There's a filter for drinking water, a coffee machine, and a filter. There was even coffee beans, so I enjoyed Kona coffee at home.

Location is a beautiful escape, I could stare at the ocean all day. The house is very nice, extremely clean. I really liked my room. I like the clothing optional idea. It’s a drive to grocery store, gas, restaurants, I really enjoyed the Thai restaurant in town, but again a drive away.

Keaau is an authentic neighborhood on Hawai'i Island vs. a manicured resort. You will get a feel for what it is like to live in Hawai'i, amid the beautiful nature. It is not super close to swimmable beaches, however there is a waterfront park in the neighborhood where you can see the surf pounding against the lava rocks. There is also a local farmer's market nearby. Hilo town is about 11 miles away and has good shopping and some restaurants. The volcano is about a half hour drive away and definitely worth visiting.

It's a shared accommodation with the host staying at the garage and other bedrooms occupied by other guests. Lots of variations of coffee available for breakfast. Apples, bananas are available as well. No dishwasher available. So you need to wash the dishes yourself. Kitchen is adequate with all the necessities. Location is good. Hilo is 20 miles away. Volcano is 30 miles away. Open parking outside the house. Bathroom and bedroom was neat and clean.

If you are looking for a fancy hotel room, this might not be your place. If you are looking for a Acofortabe place to stay and get a night's sleep so you can go explore what Hawaii has to offer then this is a good option to put a little more money in the exploring budget.

just far from the beaches and all locations are anyway via Hilo, so it doesn't help you live up on the hills. Hope they build more community/perimeter roads to bypass city traffic. No retail stores, laundromats are far away

Not that Hilo is a busy place, but getting out to Kea'au was worth the relatively short drive. If you are looking for piece and quiet, or a spot to do some star gazing, Kea'au is the place to be.

The location gave us easy access to both Hilo and Volcano National Park. We landed at Kona airport and had to drive across the island to get to the Hilo side. I wouldn’t recommend that drive at night. This area is less commercial and more laidback than Kona.

Check what else is available against price.

Check what else is available against price. This is basic camping and certainly not in a fruit rain forest. We were ok with it after we adjusted our concept of what it was. Camping in a room that is basically a tent with running water and a toilet. If that is ok then this will suit.

If you like to see the real Hawaiian tropical fauna and enjoy crisp fresh air, then Pahoa is the place to stay. You can enjoy the local farmers markets and Malama market is centrally located for any of your needs. Very near to Issac Hale state park, Kaimu black sand beach, shipman beach, Maku’u farmers market, lave tree state monument. Only 40 min away from volcanic national park.

This location, and anything in Hawaiian Paradise Park is perfect for really getting away, however, it is NOT close to any stores, restaurants, etc. You need to be prepared with your own food. I have a friend who lives nearby, so it is perfect for me. I do recommend looking for fruit stands along the Pahoa highway, and Kaloli's restaurant in Orchidland. Pahoa is quaint and has more restaurants and grocery stores. It's worth a visit; not terribly touristy.
