The Mall was great!
The Mall was great! I love how it's closed off to car traffic and you can just stroll in comfort. Many, many shops of many, many different tastes. Great variety. Very active nightlife (well, it IS a college town!). Traffic is very congested, so just be mindful of that. I appreciate the history and options of places to go and things to do. I enjoy the mountain and tree views.Guest review byAnonymousCambodia - 8.0

I really liked it, but I would need to visit again to really look around and visit the sites. I only traveled there to go to Buc-Ees. Didn't know that it was game day for the University, so next year, I may make it an entire weekend to visit the sites and get a ticket to the game.Guest review byYolandraUnited States - 10.0

We had a great time enjoying the outdoors and natural beauty of the area. Shopping options such as Walmart were readily available, which allowed us to have meals at our cottage pretty easily. The caverns are a spectacular must see attraction. The national park is probably underrated for it beautiful views and trails. We were only there a few days, but expect to return to see more. We did a rafting excursion and would like to come back to kayak next time. The one downside is there seemed to be limited dining options.Guest review bySnyder - 8.0

Front Royal is the starting point on the north end of the skyline drive. The town really is cute and time could be spent there, which we did not. We drove into town and had dinner at the main st mill-really cute place with murals on the wall inside and great sandwiches at good, fair prices.Guest review bySteveUnited States - 10.0

The resort as a whole was wonderful! From so many activities, to everything being so clean, and even to it being so peaceful! Definitely a place to travel to with your family! The waterpark is definitely a great place for children of all ages! There’s so much to do in it!Guest review byShellie - 6.0

The room was adequate but apparently had not been cleaned properly. Used soap was in the shower and toilet paper was almost empty. Made me question how much effort had been put into cleaning the rest of the room.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

The New Market battlefield tour and Virginia Museum of the Civil war are top notch. A small fee for the museum tour and video but well worth it, it has an excellent description of the Civil War battles from beginning to end.Guest review byChuckDCUnited States - 10.0
We only spent the weekend, but it was an amazing time.
We only spent the weekend, but it was an amazing time. Primary purpose of the trip was a visit to Monticello, for which I've been waiting many years. But while here, we ate out a lot and did a fair amount of driving around. The restaurants we visited (Bad Luck Ramen, The Virginian, Public Fish & Oyster) were fantastic! The UVA campus is beautiful. The Saunders-Monticello Trail up the mountain is a great walk / hike. Carter Mountain Orchard was also really nice. And of course Monticello visit was AMAZING. From the time we spent here and what we saw driving around, the town seems alive and thriving, culturally active, the historical aspect is deep. I think Charlottesville will warrant another visit!Guest review byThomasUnited States
