- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 507 reviewsWe traveled around Samoa and stayed at 5 different hotels. No one could compare to the David Parker Ego Lodge Hotel, neither in terms of cleanliness, location, or service. There was a unique atmosphere there that you rarely get to experience. For me, who arrived by sea, it was a true releif to stay up in the mountain side where it felt cooler, away from the hustle and bustle, close to nature. We swam in a lovely cool waterfall that was located just below the hotel. The hotel's two lovely dogs showed us the way. It was incredibly nice. Each room had a balcony with the most beautiful view over a lush valley, and out ower the island to the sea. The rooms were simply furnished, and had a small kitchen. No one can compare to Lolita who runs the place. She is amazing. We felt really well looked after. She took such good care of all the guests, each and every one of us. What a loving fellow human being. We quickly felt at home, and chose to come back here many times during our stay, to treat ourselves to that little extra. They serve good food on the shared terrace, with the most beautiful view from morning to evening. In the evenings we could hear the geckos and crickets, and admire the fruit bats down in the valley as darkness took over the landscape. And it was absolutely fantastic to start the day there, with a good cup of coffee/tea and optional breakfast, while looking out over a valley waking up. The birds swayed on the buoyancy down there and it felt like flying with them. Very calming. It was optional to have the food served in the room or on the terrace, and we chose the terrace every time. Quiet and pleasant atmosphere. On the area there was sweet birds that looked like a Kiwi bird walking around on an extremely well-kept property. I thought there must be a lot of gardeners working here, but I never saw them. Eggs, pancakes or smoothie for breakfast, all with home-grown fruit.Guest review byBenedicteNorway
- From US$90 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.4Good - What previous guests thought, 316 reviewsRoom service whenever needed, just needed to hang sign on door if you wanted it or not. Friendly staff members who stops to chat with you. Security guard on site, and he is really friendly. He would ask if we needed help with any luggage daily, because we will leave in the morning and. One back late at night, just to shower and sleep. Location is right across from the market and in between 2 main big supermarkets. So you can pop out to get essentials or food.Guest review byJulieNew Zealand

Lovely place, very interesting culture, hired a car, went to swim at Turtle Bay, drove into the town to look around. Bought food at some of the local food places, but the best food and price was the resort itelf. To get around one does need to hire a car, they are expensive however. But to get the feel of Samoa, necessary. There are cheaper places to stay, it depends on what you want. A beautiful new airport complements the island, previously was a tin shed but what was lovely about that was the welcoming group singing and paying guitars. Sadly that does not happen at the new airportGuest review byCarolNew Zealand - 8.0
Apia is a beautiful place to visit.
Apia is a beautiful place to visit. You should be prepared with an itinerary if travelling solo or as a couple, or family with small kids. Although alot of those of Samoan heritage would spend a bit of time with family. We spent a little time with family, and managed to visit my grandma's headstone and do up her floral arrangement and solar lights. The temperature I know alot of people would love. Its tropical, certain villages with white sand beaches are serene and tranquil. I will always make time to go back to my home island.Guest review byJojoNew Zealand - 6.0

I was only here for one night, for proximity to my early flight the next day. I would probably stay a couple of nights if returning to enjoy the facilites and surrounds. However, it is a long way from the other sights on the island like the To-Sua Trench and Namua island. The drive to those is about 2 hours on the slow roads.Guest review byKarenAustralia - 10.0
Vibrant friendly city with plenty to explore.
Vibrant friendly city with plenty to explore. Phat burger good burger & cocktails Georgie’s pizza - local recommendation, very cheesy pizza Cafe Cornwall did amazing breakfast, frappe & milksakes! Piula water cave, Togitogiga Waterfall (free), to-sua trench and the clam sanctuary were our favourite activities.Guest review byKirsty GilmourNew Zealand - 8.0

There is not much to do out in this area as its really the wharf town for the ferry out to Savaii. The Sheraton was close by to the wharf and the airport so it worked well for an overnight stay before flying home the next day rather than going all the way into ApiaGuest review bySteveNew Zealand
