The thatched-roof bungalows are spacious with lovely interior décor and furniture, and are laid out along many winding brick paths in a lush tropical setting with flowers, shrubs, and trees, some with botanical labels on them. Along the paths are many splendid African art carvings, statues, small flowing brooks, ponds, and beautiful scenic views. The grounds have been meticulously planned and laid out, as have the rooms and buildings on the many acres in this resort. Each room, dining area, meeting room, and the reception area are adorned with African art—sculptures, paintings, and historic artefacts/memorabilia, with windows that look out in to the tropical gardens and trees. The service is first class. The accompanying huge breakfast buffet has dozens of choices of fresh fruit, warm and cold meats, special dishes, cheeses, cereals, and pastries, with several people ready to cook any personal preference you may have, as well as table service in the large dining hall with its African motif surrounding you. Of course, the world-renowned Carnivore restaurant is on the Misty Hills grounds and is a real treat for those who enjoy a meal of game in a festive setting with meat delivered to your table on large skewers. There is also a nice dining room with a good lunch and dinner menu adjacent to the reception area. The City Centre is confusing.
The City Centre is confusing. Start with the 1 hour tour of Constitution Hill as it will get you to the top of the central hill and give you a place you can return to without getting lost. The Jo'burg (Civic) Theatre is nearby and you may be able to see a play. Other places to visit: Apartheid Museum (good) and Gold Reef City (poor), they are adjacent, visit on same day. James Hall Transport Museum Walter Sisulu Botanic Garden and Montecasino Bird Garden Soweto - do the walking tour, contrast between Kliptown and Orlando is extreme. To get around the city use the Bolt taxis. Hartbeesport: Harty's Horseback Safari, also Hartbeesport dam (you will need to hire a car) Pilanesburg Game Reserve: Book a 2 day safari and stay overnight. Southern Sun is an excellent computer hotel on the doorstep of OR Tambo airport. The rooms are comfortable and the shuttle service from and to the terminal is very good. The hotel has all the amenities business travellers require including a gym and pool. The bar and restaurant are also excellent. Centurion is a very nice place to visit.
Centurion is a very nice place to visit. Especially if you just want to get aways from your norm and go relax somewhere else. It's a very beautiful town and very safe according to me. It has bolts and ubers everywhere and the mall has every store you might ever think off. It also has a Gautrain station which is huge plus for me.
