They allowed us an early check in time as we needed the rest. The room was clean and furnished as advertised. The bed was so comfortable. They even have proper channels for the TV which is great. They have wine options during dinner and breakfast which is fantastic. Their food is life changing, loved it!

Very beautiful classic room. Furniture, couche, table, kitchen, everything was available in the room. Very large room, lots of space, large bathroom, classic old bathtub on little 'feet'. A pleasure to look at, a pleasure to stay. Very friendly hostess. Easy access to the property. Lots of privacy because it is a big appartment, separated but adjacent to the main house, with its own entrance and parking space. If it wasn't for the loadshedding that interrupted constantly, it would have been perfect.

Rob’s a legend! Took really good care of me during my stay and attended to all my needs. The sumptuous breakfast every morning was superbly prepared and brought to the table on time.     The Dungbeetle River Lodge was mentioned on many blogs and forums that recommended accommodation for visiting Addo Elephant Park and we quickly understood why: an exceptional place where we would have liked to spend more time. A magnificent view and location along the river (incredible view at breakfast), rooms decorated with great taste, a welcoming and available owner. The plus: the possibility of going on excursions for the activities they offer, in particular game reserves in Addo. We did the tour with Christo, great day and experience.

    We stayed for 4 nights at "The Lodge", an amazing historic family home that takes you back in time 100 years. Beautifully furnished with antiques and animal skin rugs. Enjoyed the fragrance of Mansfield Private Reserve's signature linen spray, moisturizer and body wash. The surrounding wildlife and birds were wonderful. . . herds of Impala, Zebra, Wildebeest and a few Blesbock were frequently very nearby. Kingfishers, Horn bills, Hoopoes, Starlings etc. flitted through the trees. A Magical Experience in every way.

He made sure everyone saw the animals they wanted (we saw lions (including cubs), rhino's, hippo's, cheetahs, giraffes, etc. etc.) to and the resort-like set up (all meals included, all game drives included) was incredible.

    Everything was just perfect. The bed big and comfortable, the room had a heater, the bathroom was very big and the breakfast delicious. I really liked that the water knobs in the shower were right on the side of the door. Means you could turn on the water without being sprayed with cold water!

    Port Alfred is a small and attractive town with beautiful and clean beaches . It has beautiful villas guest houses and nice hotels with tasty food .There are so many tourist attractions eg. The golf club. It has two malls, Heritage mall and Rosehill mall. We went to eat at spur with my family.

    My stay at Adventure Apartment, Colchester was truly wonderful. The space was exceptionally clean, beautifully decorated, and offered a peaceful atmosphere that made it easy to relax and unwind. Every detail from the serene surroundings to the warm and welcoming ambiance, was thoughtfully arranged. It’s the perfect place for anyone looking for comfort, tranquility, and a touch of elegance.     Old style of buildings but in the based in the nature. Super bedroom and in the morning all kind of animals where in front of your room. Also the Akmala Game reserve tour is highly recommendable because we saw so many wild animals (lions, rhino's, cheetahs, secretary bird,...) The dinner in the lodge was superb.

    Really interesting community.

    Really interesting community. Best place is on the stoep at the Pig and Whistle. Their food was great, there is a pool table for entertainment for the kids. Prices are very good and the staff very friendly and helpful.

    This was a new listing , and we were the first guests, LUCKY US!! The facilities offered are too many to mention. An updated kitchen with everything that opens and closes and more. Filter water on tap, a wine fridge, every spice that you can imagine. If you have forgotten anything at home, no stress they have it. A beautiful, clean, large family home. The beds are comfortable, shower pressure is great, wifi, dstv and views from every bedroom. Our host Larraine was wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. This gem is a true home from home

    The village of Cannon Rocks is very quaint , beautiful beaches that are completely un-spoilt with excellent walks on the beaches and in the coastal forest - All shopping catered for in Kenton on Sea which is a 20 minute drive away

    Beautiful coastal town with lots to do.

    Beautiful coastal town with lots to do. We attended a beer festival in Wharf street. Guido's at the beachfront is a must for a simple but cheap meal with friendly service. The chicken liver starter is absolulelty to die for and enough as main meal.

    We stayed at Dungbeetle River Lodge for 2 nights while...

    We stayed at Dungbeetle River Lodge for 2 nights while visiting Addo. We arrived in the late afternoon and then took a full day game drive from the lodge. It was a bit much for us and would do a morning game drive next time. The experience was awesome, it was just too long for our pensioner bodies! Staying 2 nights was perfect because the evening gave us a nice recovery period before we hit the road for our return to Cape Town. Dungbeetle River Lodge was a perfect location from which to travel into Addo. It's literally 3 minutes from the south gate of the park.

    This is the place to stay for easy access to Private Game Reserves and Safaris. Recommend Addo Elephant Park, Pumba Private Game Reserve & Sibuya. The restaurants were amazing too. Stanleys is a must. Pizzarella have amazing pizzas. Vollo and Voila also great.
