The inn was so beautiful and many wonderful qualities. It's location is in the middle of a lively street full of shops and restaurants and a close (though uphill) walk to a temple. The in-room amenities were wonderful: whole coffee beans, a grinder, a coffee pot and cups, a separate teapot and teacups, pajamas, robes, and any necessary toiletries. The provided breakfast and dinner was delicious, traditional Japanese fare with English menus to explain the nightly courses (though I'd still suggest having a translator app). Last, but certainly not least: the baths were incredible. I appreciate that the private baths did not need a reservation and were all themed differently. So relaxing!! All my worries melted away here.

Located in Kasuga, 26 km from Takamatsu, Asan Kotonami features a terrace and views of the mountain. The ryokan has a hot spring bath and sauna, and guests can enjoy a meal at the restaurant. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and free private parking is available on site. A very neat and tidy place with unique settings!

Guests can choose to stay in rooms with Western beds or Japanese futon bedding. The elegant rooms at Kadan Kotohira come with tatami-mat flooring and sliding paper screens. Amenities include an LCD TV, a DVD player and a fridge. Guests can choose to stay in Japanese-style houses, where Ogai Mori wrote his famous novel. We were extremely fortunate to stay in the Choseiden cottage. The very generous layout and views over the garden towards the faraway mountains, the scrolls, the paintings, the wooden furniture of this once tea house, not too forget the private bath (“Onsen”) with its glass panel onto the forest were exquisite. The staff were most helpful and kind. Very warm thoughts go to Reina who brought us our meals and guided us through the intricacies of the local cuisine, while answering with a joyful warmth our relentless barrage of questions about Japanese culture and herself. A stay which will linger!

Asahi Green Park is 17 km from the ryokan, while Yakurishion Christ Church is 17 km away. Takamatsu Airport is 7 km from the property. Dinner is great and breakfast is very fresh. As Chinese, we like all the food accormidated during our stay. We'd like to stay a little longer for our next visit and recommand others to stay at this precious hotel

Set in Tonosho in the Shodoshima region, with MeiPAM Art Museum and Saiko-ji Temple nearby, Kikuya Ryokan offers accommodation with free private parking. With a garden, the 1-star ryokan has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a shared bathroom. The accommodation features a housekeeping service and bicycle parking for guests. Me and my wife toured Japan for our honeymoon and one of our stops was Tonosho, Shodoshima. We stayed at Kikuya Ryokan and couldn't be more happy with our decision. A fantastic location just steps away from the Tonosho ferry terminal, within a 5 minute drive/bus from landmarks such as Angel Road, and last but certainly not least, our gracious host Miya-san. A cozy and spacious tatami room, amenities, yukata, tea, presents and so much more. Miya-san was one of the kindest souls we've ever met and was instrumental in making Tonosho an unforgettable experience. We'll never forget it and are so thankful for her hard work! We'll meet again, one day!

Enjoy a cup of tea while looking out at the sea or mountain. Extras include slippers and free toiletries. A TV is provided. Absolutely lovely! Beautiful and majestic old-school onsen hotel. Fantastic view. Lovely onsen. I changed my plans just to enjoy it for another day. Note: there is a shuttle bus pick-up at the port (bus will come within 15 minutes when you call (before 6pm)) - you'll see the pick-up point in front of the low building). There are also drop-offs scheduled in the morning. Great big breakfast. Bicycle available to order.

Featuring an outdoor pool and natural hot spring baths on the top floor, Bay Resort Hotel Shodoshima is located in Shodoshima Island. All guestrooms offer great ocean views. Free WiFi access is available at the lobby and in all guestrooms. The staff was super friendly and the hotel facilities was top notch. Really easy to rent a car at the hotel to experience Shodoshima.

A 5-minute walk from JR Kotohira Train Station, Kotosankaku Hiten provides Japanese rooms with traditional futon beds and Konpira Mountain views. Hot-spring baths, traditional meals and massage services are featured. Kaiseki dinner was excellent. It would be helpful for some type of translation on what the food is and how to eat in a prepared written form in English. Service was great. Breakfast had quite a good selection. Location is definitely a great plus, only 3-5 minutes on foot from the train station.
