Tokinenoyado Yunushi Ichijoh is situated in the Kamasaki Onsen district in Shiroishi, a 15-minute drive from Shiroishi Station and Shiroishi-Zao Station. It was absolutely exceptional, from the food, to the staff, to the service and hot springs, everything was simply immaculate. You cannot get any better than this.

Set in the peaceful TogattaOnsen, a very rural town. The area is easier to explore by car. The food was unbelievably good, we did half board, enjoying both breakfast and dinner Japanese style. The service was excellent, all the staff were so helpful, even with my limited Japanese. If you want a relaxing place, this is it, they have both public and private baths available (private is extra cost).

The hotel was very beautiful and well-preserved, in old japanese fashion. However, the rooms were well isolated and we didn't hear our neighbours at all! There is a very charming little Japanese bath that makes for a relaxing soak. The staff was very friendly and helped take our luggage to our room, since the building suffered some damage from the 2011 earthquake and tsunami and was not able to replace the elevator. Overall it was a wonderful stay, and I would recommend staying here.

My foreign friend was thrilled by the all-you-can-drink sake. I was also surprised that, despite the place being nearly full throughout our stay, he was the only foreigner there. Is it because it's the Tohoku region? There really were very few foreign tourists. Free bus from Sendai station was great too.
