The place was exceptional with friendly staff and services. The room and onsen were both well facilitated and clean. We were staying here for six nights and they prepared us different Japanese style dinners on every night, which were all amazingly good. The buffet breakfast was nice with good variety as well. We have had a great time here and skiing in Myoko.

The spacious rooms at Kofukan Ryokan feature tatami (woven-straw) flooring and shoji paper screens. All are air-conditioned, with a fridge and electric kettle provided. The en suite bathroom has a bathtub and Western toilet. Very good value overall. Staff speaks good English. Got private bathroom, which is essential for me. Nice japanese breakfast, with variation everyday. Can buy discounted ski pass tickets (around 25% off) for Ikenotaira, Suginohara and Akakura Onsen. Free shuttle to get you to these 3 ski resorts too. Can do pickup at station between 7am and 7pm when you arrive and leave. Onsen bath is very nice and the building is very traditionally. Surprisingly, there are quite a few grocery shops and restaurants within 5 min of walking distance, which was one of my concerns before I arrived.

The onsen was amazing there was an indoor onsen and outdoor, both were hot and beautiful. We spend a week here, this hotel is a little bit off the beaten track, but 100% worth the extra little drive.

Set in Myoko, within 37 km of Zenkoji Temple and 39 km of Nagano Station, Tomiya Ryokan offers accommodation with ski-to-door access and free WiFi as well as free private parking for guests who drive. Located in the Tsubame Onsen district, the property provides guests with access to a hot spring bath and a public bath. The ryokan has family rooms. Tomiya Ryokan was a true authentic Japanese Ryokan, run by the most kind, warm-hearted family. Jintaro and Yukiye (sp?) prepared us the most amazing dinner (message them ahead for a dinner reservation). Their father, Hideo greeted us warmly. Their location is set right across from the Seki Onsen ski lift and the local community bus took us from the Sekiyama train station to a stop right in front of their ryokan. Their onsen is iron-rich, with fine red particulates and was perfect for evening, near full-moon soaking, but even better with the morning sunrise.
