And you get there by cat car! The whole thing feels like stumbling on a wonderful secret. Excellent traditional breakfast, the hosts are so lovely and accommodating. Can't recommend highly enough.

The nearest airport is Osaka Itami Airport, 39 km from the property. All staff are very tentative, friendly, and so welcoming. The property is situated close to the park within a walking distance and up on the hill, so you get a good view of a sunset. The food was beautifully plated, all the dishes taste very good and you can tell that it’s from attention to details.

Each air-conditioned room includes a seating area, a fridge and flat-screen TV with satellite channels. The bathroom comes with free toiletries. It was incredible. We arrived early before check-in . Dropped our luggage, and the hotel is right at the entrance of the park. The staff is very polite and we had a wonderful tradiontal Japanese breakfast.

Tsukihitei is located in the Kasugayama Primeval Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Each guest room has a Japanese-style decor and offer panoramic forest views, traditional tatami (woven-straw) floors, and shoji paper screens. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, especially given its setting in the middle of the forest. The room itself was very spacious and exceptionally clean. The staff could not have been more kind and attentive, and the dinner that was provided was incredible. For those interested in seeing the deer, they can be found a short walk from the hotel (with some even found wandering just outside the grounds).

Todai-ji Temple is a 7-minute drive. The dinner & breakfast was amazing, the hostess that served us was great. The night tour up the mountain and looking over the city was just breathtaking. The staff were all very friendly and made us feel welcomed.
