Located in a 100 year-old Registered Tangible Cultural Property, Ryokan Hostel K's House is located in Shizuoka, a 7-minute walk from JR Ito Train Station. The hostel offers hot-spring baths, free Wi-Fi and 3 lounges.

The Japanese-style rooms at Historical Ryokan Hostel K's House Ito Onsen are air-conditioned and come with traditional tatami-mat flooring. Most rooms enjoy beautiful views of the Matsukawa River. Love our private room with private toilet which is a great convenience. The room is very big but Cosy, overlooking the river. Lots of areas to chill out in the hostel as well. Bonus was the private onsen!

WOW. This was a shot in the dark booking since I couldn’t find a place near the beach that was tattoo friendly. We were blown away at the facility, amenities and overall beauty of the location. I booked 3 rooms. Everyone had their own private onsen bath. My husband and I upgraded to the sauna barrel room and we LOVED IT. The guys all did sauna in the morning. They even give you handmade authentic sauna hats. Breakfast was simple but filling. Half of the group did the Japanese style, half did American. My jumbo toast made me feel like I was in a Ghibli movie having breakfast. There is a vending machine in the breakfast area was a variety of snacks and drinks. Our van made it on the roads to the property. So a standard vehicle will have no issue. Beautiful creak flowing in the backyard of every room. Every room has an entrance, toilet & sink room, living room (doubles as bedroom bc you have tatami beds), vanity sink & rack, THEN sliding door to your shower & bath, THEN sliding door to your porch with seating. Our room had the barrel immediately to the left of the porch with ANOTHER outdoor tub. Price was excellent!!

Our special thanks goes to the very nice male staff who render his efficient services in table-setting for the many dishes of traditional Japanese cuisines, both for dinner and breakfast. He guided us the unique flavors of each type of food and the best way of eating with various sauces and condiments. He took the initiative to give us pamphlets about the sight-seeing spots nearby. We took his advice and did another hour of touring to learn more about Atami. It was a very hospitable and warming journey we had had with this hotel. For us it was a first experience and we truly could feel the relaxing atmosphere and hospitality. Traditional Japanese breakfast is very interesting to try, it’s more like a ceremony and restaurant’s stuff is extremely nice and professional. The location is also good, it’s a short walk to Shuzhenji walking area. The hotel has a nice landscape, every house has its own privacy.

Atami Sekaie is set in Atami, 2.5 km from Atami Sun Beach, 25 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station, as well as 36 km from Shuzen-ji Temple. There is an on-site restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. The accommodation offers a 24-hour front desk.

Hakone Checkpoint is 22 km from the ryokan, while Hakone Shrine is 25 km away. The evening meal was a delicious curated seasonal multi-course menu, with tender wagyu beef as the highlight. The staff were so attentive even though we had very limited Japanese. And of course the room, onsen and view were amazing.

Isoaruki no Yuyado Ushiogumo -6 years or older- features sea views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Kawazu, 37 km from Shuzen-ji Temple. Guests staying at this ryokan have access to a balcony. Guests have access to a hot spring bath, public bath and open-air bath. Service was above and beyond and the accommodation was extremely comfortable.

The hotel is located about 2km from seafront and close enough to some amazing Mt Fuji views. Free bicycles available but to travel beyond Heta I would suggest a car from safety perspective.

Situated in Atami and only less than 1 km from Atami Sun Beach, 素泊まり宿　瑞宝荘 features accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. The property is located 26 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station, 33 km from Shuzen-ji Temple and 48 km from Mount Daruma. Lake Ashi is 28 km away and Hakone Open-Air Museum is 34 km from the ryokan. The property was very quaint and traditional Japanese style! Very clean and comfortable. Our host was incredibly sweet and made our day!

Set 10 km from Shuzen-ji Temple, Yumeguri no Yado Yoshiharu offers 5-star accommodation in Izunokuni and has a garden. Ideally located in the Izu Nagaoka Onsen district, this ryokan provides a terrace, as well as a hot tub. The ryokan offers rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. I enjoyed the variety of Onsen. The food was delicious. Staff were so nice too.
