Very close to the bus stop from Koyasan Station. Staff were always helpful and the meals were unbelievably delicious and satisfying, even though I needed to ask for a soy-free modification. The best food I ate during my stay!

The morning prayer was definitely a highlight. Loved all of it. The temple is beautiful, with amazing gardens. The room was also very nice, spacious and well equipped. Staff was very kind. Dinner was served in a private dining room, the food was very nice (but if you cant eat Japanese food definitely bring something to eat as you cant buy anything at the temple). The onsen was modern and clean, men and women are separated. Thank you very much, would definitely recommend!

This hotel is run by the kindest couple, and I’m still thinking about how good dinner and breakfast were. Some of the best meals of my trip! You can also order lunch for the trail. The onsen was wonderful after a long day hiking. Room was on the 3rd floor and very quiet, it was compact and simple, very clean, with everything you might need, including yukatas for dinner and towels for the onsen. Shared toilets and sinks in the hall were never busy; there are two communal showers inside the onsen. I asked about laundry and they took mine and washed it for me within a few hours! The bus stop to Shingu or Hongu was a one-minute walk from the hotel. Yunomine Onsen was such a unique town, I feel lucky to have stayed here and enjoyed such great hospitality!

We stayed two nights in Koyasan at Fugen-in temple and it left a long-lasting impression of serenity and kindness. The temple has a long history and many works of art. Attending the morning prayer was a meditative experience. The monks were very friendly and explained about the Haiku temple in Fugen-in's garden. Breakfast and dinner were amazing, so well-balanced and lovingly prepared. The room was clean and had everything we needed, we felt well taken care of. The water of the onsen was very hot and relaxing. Fugen-in's location is perfect, very central and right around the corner of the tourist information. What also stays with us is the beautiful sound of the local cicadas.

The owner is just fantastic! Great personality, we loved all our interactions. At the end, he drove us to Kogumotori-oji for our hike. The mattress is comfortable and the breakfast is good. He prepared lunch boxes for us on request. The minshuku has robes for bathing in the hot springs and I loved how welcoming the atmosphere was. I want to return someday.

It offers free Wi-Fi throughout the property, a terrace and rooms with a Japanese interior and Western beds. This place is truly magical. It’s located in the first village on the kumano trail, so it’s perfect for those people who wants to do the short hike on the first day. The host and his wife are amazing and were so friendly that we felt like home straight away. They serve the dinner and breakfast and so far it was the most amazing meals we had during Kumano experience. Not to forget the view and magic mist we saw on the evening.
