Honami-Kaido is definitely not your typical guesthouse. Yoshiro san is the kindest host and has mastered the art of hospitality for sure! I have never met someone so dedicated. The room is clean and spacious, with great view of river in the front. it felt relaxing and tranquil. The staff is nice and friendly, really helpful. we are suprised to find someone who is able to speak chinese in this town. The meal offered is beyond expectation, super delicious.

A truly wonderful experience start to finish. We booked the twin room with private external bathroom (i.e an outdoor relaxation area with a hot tub fed from the hot spring water). When you walk into the room you feel instantly relaxed. Supreme luxury and comfort. Our breakfast and dinner were included, and it was absolute fine dining, some of the best food we have ever eaten (served up in our own private dining room!) The service was second to none, we felt absolutely spoiled every minute of our stay. An unforgettable experience.

Very nice ryokan, somewhat larger than the others we stayed in, located in a quaint little onsen town. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Private baths with reservations were very enjoyable and meals were served in private dining rooms. We really enjoyed our stay

Staff attention is outstanding, they picked up us at the train station, they took us to the monkey park, they transfer our bags to the train station while we were at the park, although they did not provide shuttle service from the monkey park to the station, they picked up us as the schedule of the bus to the station had changed recently and we were unable to take it and there were no taxis at town. Dinner and breakfast deserve special attention as it was fantastic, excellent quality, local delicacies like mushrooms and a wide variety of dishes. The room with private onsen was one of the best experiences in Japan.

Wonderful owners, felt like home in a traditional ryokan. The owner was kind enough to drop us at the train station early in the morning. Enjoyed the hot spring bath as well Owner is a sweet guy who will give a free ride to Snow Monkey Park as well. He send us off with a lucky charm ribbon
