Of course Swiss hospitality is superb. The breakfast was more than plenty with surrounding that I felt like eating at home. The hotel was near the train station but no noise disturbed me at all during those 7-night stay.

Hiking and walking tours are possible within the area, and Blattenheimat - im traditionellen Appenzeller Haus offers a ski pass sales point. The house was very well equipped for cooking or entertainment. And it had lovely traditional elements-decor, furniture, interior. Was just a close walking distance to supermarket and old town. We really enjoyed our stay.

He has a little studio stocked with home made chocolates, biscuits and hard bread. I enjoyed the little sitting room that was bright and cheery. Staff were helpful and friendly. Very convenient location ~100m from the train station but one doesn't hear the train with the windows shut.

I have stayed here several times. It is very expensive so it makes a lovely treat. Personally I like that it is all „auf Deutsch“. I like to experience a place from that country‘s perspective, plus I can work on my German!
