I was here for two nights when traveling solo to the area with my motorbike. The hotel is in a big Bavarian-style building, modernized in the interior with all comforts, but retaining the traditional aura you may be looking for when visiting this lovely region. The staff is nice and welcoming. Very comfortable big single room, with sitting area, working table, tv, serious wardrobe, very large single bed, large bathroom with heater also in the warm season (ideal when traveling by motorbike in the rain...), stylish wooden furniture and with all conveniences. Modern elevator to get upstairs. Very nice spa, with sauna, steam bath, silent room and outside thermal pool (heated). Fantastic location, isolated in nature, secluded yet very easy to reach through a dedicated access road, with a gorgeous panorama! Good food in the evening, and very rich and high quality breakfast. I would say, a perfect stay, apart from the horrible weather :) I will definitely consider staying here again, if I will come to the area another time.

The family spa was phenomenal. My two boys enjoyed unwinding in the pool in the evening. And it gave me a bit of time to relax and not be so involved! The restaurant is of course also wonderful!

Very comfortable apartment for family of 5, all necessities available, good beds, quiet. Kids loved swimming in the hotel pool inside. Good location, next to park, walking distance from restaurants and a nice outdoor pool.

I like the overall ambiance of the place! It was a mix of modern and traditional. The room was bigger than we expected, very cozy upon entering it, we really had some comfortable nights. The staff were also so friendly, so hospitable! Everyone were so attentive and knows you need something before you even ask! It was also my husbands birthday and they went an extra mile on the greeting request that I asked to be on the room, he received instead a glass of champagne and a fruit fondue platter upon checking in on their beautiful lounge! Their receptionist team Danika (if I remember it right) & Florin, plus the super friendly bartender were just superb! You can tell they really love what they do, amazing people! If not because of work, we could've extended our stay for one more day.

The Aktivhotel Gasthof Schmelz, a still genuine Bavarian inn, is located in Chiemgau, right at the gateway to Berchtesgadener Land. in a beautiful valley about 1.6 mi outside of Inzell.

Excellent quiet location, excellent breakfast, excellent value for money. Private parking is available and included in the price. There was a warm welcome and extensive explanation of the facilities.
