This is a newer hotel, opened in April of 2024, and it is in perfect shape. The room was better than indicated on the website. I found it to be large by European standards. Couldn't ask for a better location. Easy to walk everywhere. There are two grocery stores nearby. All and all, a great stay. Visited 11/2024.

Mystery Hotel Budapest, Preferred Hotels & Resorts is a historically themed luxury hotel located in the 6th district in downtown Budapest, in an eclectic palace built in the 19th century. This 5-star hotel offers free WiFi and in-house spa and wellness area. Hungarian State Opera is 900 m away and St. Stephen's Basilica is a 15-minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is beautiful and extremely well maintained. The staff is kind, helpful and professional. The bed room was quiet and the bed really comfortable. The hotel is near the train station ( where the Hop-on and Hop-off bus starts its tour) and so if you start discovering the city, you will figure out that it is close to many key sightseeing attractions.

The location was central to all main attractions, the rooms were spacious and comfy, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially Marta. Breakfast was delicious and the afternoon snacks during the hot afternoon was a nice addition.

International gourmet cuisine can be enjoyed at the Costes Downtown Restaurant. An extended continental breakfast is served also in this restaurant. Everything was clean and in order. The room was spacious and the bathroom was clean. Also 10 stars for the staff, they welcomed us even though the check in was later. Will return here
