Discover the exceptional four-star Talbot Hotel Carlow, a proud recipient of the Best Family Hotel and Excellence in Service awards at the 2023 Irish Hotel Awards. Food was good. Atmosphere was pleasant. Staff were friendly and helpful. Large deep bath with fast running hot water was a real luxury.

Within 200 acres of beautiful countryside, this luxurious hotel and spa boasts an 18-hole championship golf course and a 20-metre swimming pool. I was hopeful but cautious because I'd read very mixed reviews before we went. But honestly our three nights were absolutely fantastic, the perfect rest. I can't wait to go back. The food was exceptionally well cooked with a good range of choices. The staff (especially in the dining room) could not have been more friendly, professional and personable. It went beyond what I had hoped for and I have bookmarked Mount Wolsley as a perfect getaway and retreat.
