I could not have been happier with my stay at Hotel Phoenix. My room was perfect. Clean as can be, very spacious, comfortable, quiet, and inclusive of all the amenities I needed. The two men that run the hotel are phenomenal hosts—I was always greeted with a smile and they were beyond helpful in providing information about the area. Breakfast was fantastic each morning and I looked forward to chatting with the owner. My room was freshened each day, and each night my blinds were closed and I had a chocolate on my pillow. The sweetest! I could not recommend this small hotel enough! When I visit Reykjavik again, this will be where I stay.

The dining area has coffee machines available not only for the great continental breakfast. Also, a microwave oven is there, so after a tiring day of exploring, one can choose not to eat out and bring something there in the evenings. The staff was always very polite and helpful, which added to the overall great feeling of the trip.

The parking was free, so I could park the car at the hotel and went to several attractions on foot. The breakfast was superb, with alternative milk available. The room and bathroom were clean and new. One thing I did’t like was the shower enclosure, which was too small so that the bathroom floor was always wet during showering.
