The location wasn't so good, we drove every day to Takayama (~40 min) since there is not much to do in this area.

The property also provides free pick-up service from JR Takayama Station. Free shuttle bus service is available when check-in, check-out, after dinner. Perfect! Tai and his family were really kind and considerate. SOY IS OUTSTANDING. We spent wonderful stay in SOY. We miss TAMA, too.

Reopened after renovation in 2022, Auberge Hidanomori is situated in quiet hills, a 10-minute shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station. The property offers free WiFi access in rooms and in public areas including the shared TV lounge and the terrace. We loved our time at Auberge Hidanomori. The decor is beautiful and in a lovely location in the outskirts of Takayama. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who gave us recommendations for some local walks and provided a free shuttle to/from town. We would definitely recommend booking in for dinner - the food was incredible and the best that we had during our trip to Japan. We hope that we will be back again some day - thank you!

Free Wi-Fi is provided throughout. Incredibile experience! The staff was extremely courteous and attentive. Breakfast was really good. A recommended stay definitely.
