And for breakafast I could order truffle omelet and eggs benedict (aomori style maybe due to the apple) and they were great!

If you want to have an experience in a traditionnal family owned ryokan, I highly recommend to stay there :) It is exactly the kind of place that I hope will still exist in some years!

Tagoto features a hot public bath, Japanese-style and Western rooms and Japanese cuisine, a 5-minute drive from Aizu Wakamatsu Station. It offers free Wi-Fi throughout the propert and free parking is on-site. The food was excellent, and the variety and regional dishes absolutely incredible. The futon was a little thin, but the room was spacious and the tea/snacks delicious. There's also a mini fridge which was awesome for sake. The bath facility is perfectly luxurious, and they offer massage too but we asked too late to book one. The staff were very friendly, polite, and accommodating and I enjoyed interacting with all of them. I very much look forward to staying again!
