It’s a beautiful hotel and was great value for money. The pool area is small but gorgeous and all the staff were very friendly and happy to have a chat. It’s a little walk to the main square but there’s a great square a block away with markets on some days and plenty of food options. 100% recommend and we would stay here again.

This hotel is amazing from historical perspective and the experience was very good. It was built in 1901, and still in very good condition. The room was big with king sise bed. Small bathroom. AC. two big windows. Antique design with classic furniture. Small TV and small bar fridge. From the window we saw the HIDALGO PARK at historical downtown . The location is perfect to enjoy the old city (just half block from the beautiful cathedral and central park).

You need to rent a car in order to travel around. I have had a base stay in Merida. Merida is general overpriced and that doesnt mean the quality will follow for the value of the money. Merida itself is not interesting at all.

We really liked the city.
We really liked the city. You need to understand the bus situation and we tried, bought bus passes, tried using them but they were not coded the way our phone was displaying so we ended up using taxi service for all of our visitations to museums, central, restaurants, etc. It wasn't expensive but much more than the simple bus or combi travel would have been. Merida has lots to offer, especially with tours outside of the city, a bus trip to the beach in Progresso for 25 pesos each way, very cheap, cenotes, pyramids, on and on!

Merida is a big, historic, busy city surrounded by Mayan ruins, historic haciendas and beautiful cenotes. The Merida restaurant scene has everything from chef owned culinary gems to family run taco shops. There are many excellent tour guides available for in-depth exploration of the city and surroundings or one can do so on their own using public transportation or with a rental car.
We had an amazing time at this hotel.
Our room was clean, comfortable and big. We used the pool frequently and although it is somewhat small it served its purpose.
We really liked the design and vibe of the place; kind of colonial but modern.
It was a very calm place and we had no trouble relaxing and feeling at home.
The breakfast was one of the best and biggest we had in Mexico.
Esther was a really nice and attentive. She noticed when we needed anything, sometimes even before noticed ourselves.
What we liked the most was the proximity to both Paseo de Montejo and the Plaza Grande. Also, the service was exceptional the owner of the small hotel was at the property every day and he's very nice, courteous, and helpful. He would offer us water and coffee every time he would see us and when we went to the beach he lent us a couple of towels and a beach bag. We'll loved Merida and I'll try to book a room at this hotel again when we go back.
Best hotel we stayed in during our long trip around the Yucatán peninsula by far. We prefer boutique hotels and this truly is a 5 star experience with the most professional and friendly staff. We have stayed in many hotels in Mexico, and this has to be the best bed we have slept in(most beds in Mexico are very hard). When we checked out and moved to our next destination, my wife kept commenting how much she missed Casona 61.
It was one of the cheapest and best hostel in Mexico so far. The price is great. Really basic but everything was clean, the location is great and the breakfast was really really good. Good filter coffee. The restaurant was great as well. Great wifi. The view from the patio at the restaurant is beautiful. Everyone was nice and welcoming. Would stay there again.
Small Mexican boutique hotel, walkable to everything in downtown Merida. A welcome contrast to cookie cutter chain hotels. Super charming and helpful reception staff. Nice rooms with private balconies and a hammock, although in one case the hammock was actually inside the room! Good breakfast included, and free parking next to the hotel.
This is a cozy hotel located close to Merida's downtown. The place has beautiful architecture with a nice space. There is parking and a small pool for hot days. The downtown of Merida has plenty of restaurants, bars and historical places to look around. Rooms have nice space and perfect for families.
Love the lush gardens, good breakfast, very large comfortable room. Bathroom well lit with magnifying mirror for applying makeup. I could actually see if my eyes matched before going out in public. Nice to have face cloths, too, which are not necessarily supplied in Mexico.
Spent a month in Mexico travelling and this was my favourite hotel of the 8 we stayed in.
Loved the style. Loved the easy access to tea, coffee etc any time of day.
Excellent location.
Freshly cooked breakfast each day with huge selection of fresh fruits and juces.
everything was amazing ! staff, location, room, shared/outdoor space, the brunch that is included is absolutely delicious and in a super charming room. go there : you will not regret it. We have travelled in several cities in Mexico and it definitely is my favourite hotel.
Best value for money we had in Mexico. Located on a quiet street near a beautiful shopping/restaurant street and a square. Close to the bus station.
The room was super spacious, clean and well kept. A nice refreshing pool. Terrace on top floor with hammocks.
The best stay that I’ve had in Mexico! Great location…a truly oasis in the middle of Centro. Design of the place and room was stunning. Plus I slept like a baby! Javier, please send me the link of the memory foam you guys use for the mattresses! :)
The location of the Hotel was very good with walking distance to almost anywhere we wanted to go in downtown Merida. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The staff was very nice and helpful. It was nice to have the parking garage next door.
We stayed here on our honeymoon trip round Mexico. The hotel decoration was beautiful. Our room was huge and the private pool/tub was great. Aircon and fans worked really well and the main pool was lovely to relax by and cool down in.
Great boutique hotel in Merida, walking distance to centre. The staff was incredible friendly and helpful, going above and beyond the call of duty to attend to us. Great Yucatan breakfast!
Israel the guy on reception was very sweet and helpful. the building is beautiful with a lot of character. location is excellent. bedroom was big.
it’s relatively quiet for Mexico
- The hosts are welcoming and extremely helpful;
- The rooms are neat, fully equipped and spacious;
- The area;
- Hot water, which is not to be taken for granted in Mexico.
Place is super cute and very homey. Family ran business by a French man who lives in Canada and now Mexico along with his wife. very very welcoming quite place.
I like the location of the hotel you're closer to all the nightlife of Mérida at least on downtown area. You achieve many interesting places just by walking.
