San Juan del Cabo is a cute, safe, touristy town. Everything was very expensive in the downtown area. The food was good everywhere we ate, but prices were comprable to the airport. The beaches are lovely, but most areas are not safe to swim. I rented a car, but wish I had not as I was ultimately charged double what I was promised online, parking was difficult to find, and Ubers were plentiful and affordable. I was pleasantly surprised how polite the local drivers were. The locals were polite, friendly and helpful.

Nice climate but we found it chilly some nights (Mid March) Quite expensive especially for wine unless you buy it at the supermarkets i.e. Chedraui, La Comer etc. then only 90 to 100 pesos for a decent Chilean Cab Sav or Merlot.
Not a lot of night life unless you are into ear drum destroying night clubs.
The ocean is not for swimming due to the rip tides.

Businesses on the front road Calle MANUAL DOBLADO are excellent, from breakfasts at the French Riviera to .. there's an excellent massage (facials too) place just up the road CAPRICHO,, t's perfect! To stay tacos El FOGON And I have to give props to the most delicious Italian restaurant we went to twice there's something about Their Caesar salad and I'm pretty sure the pizza's and pasta all homemade sauces, incredible wine recommendation.. is Petros down in the tourist art district. We loved the festivities, the fireworks were the best we've ever send in our lives, the love music in the plaza, the exceptional friendly kindness of the people.. the marina! The beaches! Old Town charm! Except it's sad to see that the Tropicana is under perpetual remodel and takes away from the original character that it always had been so don't do that no upgrades keep it original... Keep the Old Town charm keep the franchises out of it no Little Caesars no Subway.. Don't let the foreigners buy anything. Don't let the foreigners tell you what to do keep your festivities up until 3 AM if you want to... Keep doing what you always have done and just don't change it's perfect the way it is

We wanted to visit San Jose for a day before heading down to our time share ( of 20 years) in Cabo San Lucas. We liked the center of the town, the main street is full of local charm and small businesses, There is a stage on the main plaza with the old church and in the evening we saw dancers in colourful costumes. There are plenty of small stores and family restaurants, souvenir and food distractions.
We recommend tourists stop at San Jose on their way down to the big sophisticated resorts and immerse in the real atmosphere of the local culture.

In my Mexico experience, San Jose is a "high end"
tourist village,,,,, just what I expected,, considering all the
resorts. It is not "my" desired Mexico experience, but, I had to
visit once..If you wander away from the resorts, you can find
some real food, and local events.

Very nice place, but the vendors will try and scam you so watch out. We attempted to purchase a tour from a vendor, and he tried to book us with a timeshare presentations even though we told them no. The stores are overpriced, and more expensive than in the US so we didn't purchase anything as we felt the vendors were trying to rip us off by jacking the price up.

Marquis Los Cabos is a great boutique resort. Its very serene and comfortable with great amenities. Views from the rooms is magnificent. Staff was great and provided good service throughout our stay. The beach is not swimmable, but great infinity pools. good selection and variety of food. Good location, halfway between Cabo and San Jose del Cabo. Great for romantic or relaxing stay as it's not a party resort. There was no loud crowd during our stay as in other stays we've had in Cabo. Highly recommended.
We had a wonderful one night stay at Marisol Boutique Hotel before heading to another property and we found ourselves wishing we had more time here. The room was comfortable and thoughtfully appointed and had a small terrace overlooking the sea of Cortez. We also enjoyed the attractive common areas and the views they provided. Marisol and everyone else working at the hotel were extremely kind and hospitable. This is a lovely property in a wonderful location and I would absolutely stay here again.
In an area dominated by huge resorts, it was nice to be able to stay in the kind of small hotel I tend to prefer. The pool was steps away from our room, so we used it every day. The shower was spacious, we had a patio space to ourselves, the king bed was very comfortable and the TV was huge. Staff was very friendly and housekeeping/groundskeeping was always busy spiffing things up. The decor was subtly trendy with attention to detail. Parking was easy.
LOCATION! This spot is a surfer's paradise. Right ON the beach and at THE surfing spot in San Jose del Cabo. Loved the vibe of the place and it made for the most amazing SUNRISE I've seen. We even had whales jumping at dinner (also right next door). It was magical. Marta was so sweet and nice, communicated well and was present for check-in and to answer questions we had and show us around the place. So chill, so beautiful.
One of the best "Airport hotel" I've ever stayed in. Everything was perfect - easy to find, close to the airport, new stylish furniture, coffee / tea in the kitchen, amazing service, possibility of cheap and reliable transfer to/from the airport, nice tiny garden.
Me and my family spent a wonderful day there before flying back to Canada. Thank you so much for your hospitality!
I was able to book a room online on short notice, but when I arrived at the hotel, it was not the room that was advertised on Booking.com. The Manager was compassionate but unable to do anything to help.
The staff arranged for transportation back to the airport and the driver was great (Silverio) - very pleasant, friendly and helpful.
Sunrise was spectacular; view of stars at night on the beach was amazing. Really comfy bed!! Can’t beat the access to an incredible beach, watching surfing and beach toys like the boogie boards! Loved the small, non-resort vibe, advice on where to go / what to do and simplicity. A super alternative to the polar opposite mega resort.
The hotel is close (walkable) to the airport and car rental facilities making it very convenient for the first or final day of your trip. While dining options are very limited, the small hotel bar was very sweet.
Clean, spacious, and everything worked. At $41 cnd and with the 15 minute drive to the airport, it is the best valued hotel for airport access. I was very surprised.
The breakfast was good and the room was very clean and spacious. You can walk from here to the supermarket, and it is close to the airport for a departure hotel.
